Project " Gjirokastra 2008-2011":
The project will focus on restorations of two buildings in Gjirokastra
UNESCO protection zone:

1. Babameto 1st  category cultural historic monument

2. Babameto 2nd   category cultural historic monument

 

The purpose with Gjirokastra 2008-2011 is to create a model on good restoration, management, maintenance techniques and the proper usage of historic monuments, in the historical environment of Gjirokastra. During the project implementation period Gjirokastra Conservation and Development Organization as one of the partners in the project will employ three young Albanian architects who will be trained in documentation, restoration and

maintenance techniques. The project will be followed and controlled jointly by Swedish and Albanian heritage professionals.
