The Chairman of the Board of Cultural Heritage without Borders, Ambassador Andreas Ådahl, passed away on Saturday 10th of October 2009.
With great sadness and grief we have been informed about the death of the Chairman of Cultural Heritage without Borders, Ambassador Andreas Ådahl, who passed away on the night between Friday 9th and Saturday 10th of October 2009 after a short period of illness.
Ambassador Ådahl was a distinguished scholar and diplomat and was elected chairman of CHwB in 2005. With his professional background and experiences, and with his formidable network of contacts with individuals and institutions, his contributions to the development of CHwB´s activities in the Western Balkans have been invaluable for our Foundation.
In the passing of Ambassador Ådahl we have not only lost a very good friend but also a person who was an inspiration to us all, not least the younger staff of the Foundation.
Mr. Ådahl was 71.
On behalf of the members of the Board and all employees of CHwB we extend our condolences to the family, and offer our thoughts and sympathies during this time of loss. We strongly feel that the best way in which to honour the memory of Andreas Ådahl is to pursue our future work with the same energy and dedication that he did.
Stockholm, October 13th 2009.
